CALL FOR SPEAKERS FOR FEBRURY 2016 CONFERENCE

The Illinois Farmers Market Association (IFMA) is holding its annual conference, “Cultivating Opportunities”, on February 17, 2016 at the Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago, Illinois.  The event features a full day of educational sessions, networking, vendor fair, winter market and additional opportunities benefiting your market, organization and business.

IFMA is seeking vibrant and inspiring proposals for workshops, panels, and sessions for this gathering of market managers, local food proponents, vendors, organizations, visionaries, advocates and community stakeholders.  The goal is to advance management knowledge, share ideas, create solutions, innovate programing, connect to communities and much more.

Proposals

We welcome any ideas however potential session topics may include; marketing, sponsorship, LINK incentive programs, social media, revenue generation, cost saving measures, working with volunteers, vendor recruitment, logistics, technology, etc.

  • Maximum session length is 1 hour including time for Q & A
  • A PowerPoint presentation is preferred
  • Expected attendance is between 30-60 people per session.
  • All sessions are learning experiences and are non-commercial.
  • Interactive or experiential elements in your presentation are desirable

Logistics and Questions

Presenters will be asked to submit all materials electronically (PowerPoint, handouts, etc.) by December 23, 2015. Please inform us of any special technology needs to conduct your presentation.  Chicago Cultural Center is set up to handle audio/visual needs to present PowerPoint presentations. Internet will be available in session rooms.

 Benefit for Presenters

We are a non-profit organization, and do our best to keep the conference expenses as low as possible. We do value the skill and expertise of our presenters. All invited session presenters, co-presenters, and panelists will receive a complimentary registration.  Vendor Fair booth space (As appropriate, if desired)

Please submit your proposal by October 16, 2015

Only complete proposals will be considered. Submission of a proposal is not a guarantee of its acceptance. Proposals will be reviewed by a committee. Notification will be provided by October 31, 2015.
