The University of New England and Wholesome Wave partnered to develop a toolkit intended to provide inspiration and guidance for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Eduation (SNAP-Ed) nutrition educators interested in integrating a focus on locally-grown food and farmers’ markets.
Within the toolkit are tips to facilitate and strengthen relationships between local health organizations and farmers’ markets. It includes three different models for implementing nutrition education programming, with each model introducing participants to the idea of shopping for foods that are grown or produced locally in the farmers’ market setting.
